Waterpark Day!!

We went to Soak City on Friday, July 20th in Sandusky Ohio. Evan Allen my nephew, planned the day to have all his family attend (that could get off work). All that attended:

Grandma & Grandpa Pieracini
Scott, Marsha, Rudi, EVAN, Ethan (Ethan's girlfriend), Robyn, Morgan & Sam Allen
Joy, Sophia & Roman McKarus
Jenny, Emmett, Molly & Max Perry
Shannon & Hank Pohm

Evan wanted one last trip before he leaves on his two year mission. He is going to Riverside, California and leaning to speak Spanish. He leaves on August 15th.

Evan - Enjoying the day!!
We left at 8:30am and got to the park at 10am. It was not the best day of the summer to attend a water park, but what do you do when you planned the day for a month. It was very windy & in the 70's with NO sun at all. I think there was about 200 people in the park. I took a towel to wrap around me when I went from ride to ride. The water was very warm but the air was so cold. We tried to make the best of it. Hank got in once and that was the end of that.

Hank

We left the park around 5pm and got dinner and then headed home. It was a fun day but would have been better if it was sunny and in the 90's. You can't control the weather.

We would like to do this again next year and hope more family members can come.

July 15, 2012!!

Happy 32nd Birthday Daddy!!!

We got Aaron some tools this year. He said he can always use more tools for work. Aaron loves his tools and I'm sure Hank will someday too. It was a relaxing day as it fell on a Sunday this year. We had Church from 10-1. Then made lunch together and had ice cream at the Dugout that evening to finish the day off right.

A new toy to chew on for Hank!!

JuLy is a BiG BiRtHdAy MoNtH!!

July is a big Birthday month for the Pieracini side. I think it's the biggest month we have so far. Both my boy's big days are in July!! :)

July 1st - Hank
July 8th - Robyn
July 11th - Grandpa
July 11th - Uncle Scott
July 15th - Daddy (Aaron)
July 23rd - Tate

Aaron is not much of a birthday fan, so it was pretty low key this year. A group went out for Dad/Grandpa, Scott and Aaron's birthday on Friday, July 13th. We went to Texas Roadhouse in Toledo. I was a lot of fun to get the family together for dinner. They even sang to all 3 guys.

Happy 32nd Birthday Aaron!! Hank and I love you so much and appreciate all you do for our family.

4th of July

This was Hank's second 4th of July. Last year, we were home resting, due to Hank being born 3 days before. We really got to enjoy the fun that comes with the 4th this year. Aaron was on vacation the week of the 4th so we got to stay out late since he didn't have to get up at 4:45am.

Tuesday night, we went up to Mike & Joy McKarus house in Sylvania to watch the fireworks. It was a very hot night, in the high 90's if not 100's. We had dinner and enjoyed visiting with friends.
The fireworks started at 10pm and hard to believe, Hank stayed awake until the very end. He was able to sleep though the grand finale. Not sure how, must have been very tired.

Watching his 1st firework show!

Relaxing & holding my baby!!
On the 4th of July we went to Aunt Marsha's house for a cookout and swimming. It was another very hot day in the 90's. We cooled off in the pond for most of the afternoon..

Staying cool!!

Hank enjoys the water!

The night of the 4th we enjoyed fireworks in Napoleon with Nick, AJ & Mitch. Hank even got to enjoy sparklers with Mitch.

12 Month - Well Check!!

Hank had his 12 month well check on Thursday, July 12th. Our family doctor is Dr Kamp and we love him. He is from Canada, but we won't hold that against him. He weighed in at 26lb. and 33in. long. Hank is in the 95th percentile for both height & weight. We have a good size boy on our hands. Next step for Hank is walking, can't wait to see that! We get to see Dr Kamp again in 3ths for his 15th month check.

Trial Run on July 1st!!

Hank's Birthday was on Sunday this year and we decided not to have his party on the Sabbath. I just couldn't let the day pass without a cupcake and a candle for my baby's 1st Birthday. We got a couple cupcakes and went over to Grandma & Grandpa house. Aaron and I didn't want to be the only ones singing the "Happy Birthday" song to him. I also wanted to see if he would dig into the cake.

His BIG party is on Friday, July 6th - with family & friends!! I am working on that post!! :)

Hank wasn't sure why we were all singing!!

He was looking at the fire on the candle!!

He wanted me to feed him at first!

Not sure about the frosting or
having it on his hands & face!

Blue frosting does stain!

He got the hang of it!

Having fun now!!

We love our Friends!!

We spent the weekend with the Jenkins for Jillian's 2nd Birthday. We got into Westerville on Saturday morning for Jillian's party. They know how to put on a party (pictures to come).  That afternoon we just hangout and let the kids play. Sunday we went to church with them and we always get to see other church friends while we are in town. It's always great spending time with the Jenkins.

They wouldn't look at the camera, Kids!!!

Nick's 30th Birthday!!

Nick has finally made it in with the cool crowd. He turned 30 on June 28th and AJ planned a surprise party for family at BW3's (famous for their wings). He didn't want a party and he made sure that AJ understand. I guess he was fine with a family surprise party.  It was a fun night with family. Very hot -101 degrees that day!!

Does Nick look surprised??

Hank enjoying eating.

I think he's having fun!!

Cute boys!

July 1, 2011

My little boy is a year old! It all started at 5am on Friday morning July 1, 2011. I was laying in bed and felt a weird pop in my lower belly. I headed to the bathroom to see what was going on. I stood up and I felt like I wet my pants. I thought wait my water broke??  I was in shock that any of this was going on, so I called my sister Jenny to see what she thought. I told her I think my water broke. She told me to call the hospital to make sure I should head in. I then called Aaron at work to let him know what was going on. I told him that my water broke and he headed home right away.

He called both of our parents to inform them that we were heading to the hospital. It was 6am in the morning. I called the hospital and they said yes you need to head in. I showered and got my things around. I started to feel the contractions then.

We got to the hospital at 7am. They got us in a room right away. I was not ready for this yet because in my eyes I had till my due date which was July 13th. The baby was coming way to early. I was surprised this was happening. They checked me and I was dilated 3cm. Aaron was so excited. They got all the paperwork done in the mean time. I was really starting to feel the contractions and the pain that comes with them.

Then at 10am they asked if I wanted an epidural. I was like "for sure". I had to sign some more papers to get an epidural. With in a short period of time I was feeling a lot better.
My Mom, Dad, sisters (Marsha & Jenny) & nieces (Rudi & Molly) came to the Hospital and waited in the waiting room for the baby to be born. They got there about noon and stayed the entire afternoon & evening waiting for this baby to be born.

The afternoon surprisingly went very fast. I had family members come in and visit me while I progressed.
Feeling good with my epidural - 12:30pm

Then around 5pm, they told me I was 10cm and I could start pushing. We watched the monitor to see when I was having contraction and then I would push. I thought I was pushing hard enough, but I wasn't even close.
Then around 6pm they asked if I wanted to have my epidural turned down so I could feel the contractions a little bit, so then I would feel the urge to push. I thought about it, but I wasn't sure about having it turned down. But, I decided to have it lowered, in order to have the baby come sooner.
Well the nurse came in to turn the epidural down, but turned it OFF. With in 30 minutes, I was feeling my contractions at a 10. Wow, I was in so much pain! I told the nurse I was never doing this again. I said "I can't believe some woman do this more then once". She said, "women forget about the pain" and she had 5 children.  I'm sure I wasn't fun to be around from 6:30 - 8pm when I was pushing. It was so painful, but I did get a baby out of all that pain.

Finally Dr Fofung came in at 7:30ish and I then believed the nurses that I was getting closer. I pushed and pushed and pushed, I then told them I was done pushing. Just get this baby out of me! So Dr Fofung used the forceps to get the baby out. Hank was then delivered at 8:05pm - weighed 8lb 13oz & 21-1/2in long.
I remember hearing it's a boy and I was in shock because everyone thought it was going to be a girl. So, I was starting to think that it was going to be a girl too. I couldn't believe that he was finally here. It was very hard to enjoy the moment of holding Hank for the first time because I was in so much pain. I'm not going to lie, a lot of my tears were from pain not so much joy. After Hank and I were cleaned up my family all came in to meet the new baby. It was fun to see everyone excited about my baby.

It was a nice stay in the hospital. All the nurses were great. Dr Kamp & Dr Fofung came in and checked on us often. It was especially neat to see how Aaron took care of Hank & I. He just loved to hold his new baby boy.

Leaving the Hospital - July 3rd
We left the hospital about 1pm & stopped at Rite Aid for prescriptions. I got home and took a long nap.

Marc & Mimi came up to see Hank that afternoon. I remember being so tired and just wanted to sleep in my own bed. It was a crazy 4th of July weekend and I was not expecting Hank to come this early!! I still had two weeks to go until my due date (July 13th) and a lot of things to get done before he arrived. I guess Hank was ready to come meet his family.
